I am a little concerned about the Okotoks Lions Club, as they don't at this time have an operating secretary, so relaying information can be a bit challenging. All clubs agreed on the following 2 requests: 1) They would like the Lions Catalogue to be sent directly to their club instead of the on line approach, as there are more options and merchandise available for clubs in the catalogue, that is not contained in the web site. 2) The clubs also indicated strongly that they would like to see the President/Secretary packages sent out as they were in the past. Guests: Bruce Bishop--introduced eloquently by Art Eeles. Bruce demonstrated his excellent communication skills during his dialogue on his bid for 2nd Vice District Governor. Dr. Rose Geonzon--an excellent introduction by Ben Pond for her campaign to be 1st Vice District Governor. A great speech also in illuminating her intentions and her strengths. Edy Ongpin--LCF Dog Guide Chairman. Edy spoke to the importance of Clubs committing themselves to supporting the Dog Guide requests and initiatives, as well as new programs :ie: Guide Dogs for those suffering from autism. A strong presentation. All guests attended an excellent supper prepared by the Blackie Lions Club (who should be commended for hosting these meetings) and attended the Clubs Regular Supper Meeting. It was an excellent evening in all respects. Blackie Lions Club reported that had 2 members attend the MLA Advisory Meeting in Calgary Oct. 23/09, and also held their 1st Community Breakfast Nov.7/09 where they raised $1300.00 for the Food Bank. Talk about Lionism at work---every month 2 Blackie Lions drive in Lion Terry Laycraft for his dialysis treatment in Calgary. Blackie also donated $500.00 to S.T.A.R.S. and donated a Beef-on-a-Bun supper for the Blackie School Fund raiser. 14 Blackie Lions Members attended either the Okotoks or the Mossleigh Interclubs. Foothills Lions informed me that they brought Santa Claus to town in a motorcycle cavalcade for the Black Diamond Community Light Up and handed out chocolate and small gifts to local children. 3 Club Members attended the Okotoks Inter club.
