Official Minutes of Zone 3C Meeting Sept 20th 2009

 

The meeting was held at the Lions Manor at 2.00pm, opening with the singing of the National Anthem led by Lion Denise Isman.

 

Zone Chairman Lion Bill Baux welcomed the members (see attached list) and asked everyone to stand and introduce themselves.

 

Lion Baux distributed a package outlining the duties of the Presidents and Secretaries and asked that any member not hesitate to call him for any questions that might arise. He then had each club outline their accomplishment for the past year and state their intended activities and goals for the coming year.

 

Zone Chairman Lion Baux spoke of the work and financial help that LCIF has done in the past. He showed a DVD of LCIFs on going programs to help the unfortunate and needy people of the world.

 

Lion Baux announced the Southern Alberta Lions Rally is to be held on the week end of February 19th to 21st in Claresholm AB. This Rally is being specifically designed to provide the vice presidents and membership committees of each club the opportunity to grow and achieve more with less effort. Other club members are welcome to attend.

 

Lion Gordon Prusky outlined at least 16 responsibilities of the Sponsors to New Members which included the induction and orientation of the New Member.

 

Lion Baux, in order to garner more ideals as to increase membership, asked each club how they were planning to increase their membership and how they would ensure the retention of those New Members.

 

Lion Baux defined the Activities and Administration accounts as to what monies qualified for disbursements.

 

Monthly Membership Reports are a MUST Loin Baux emphasized and that he would diligently follow on those reports.

 

A discussion arose concerning the Peace Poster Contest that the timing was inconvenient for the schools to participate.

 

Lion Dr Rose Marie E. Geonzon was introduced as a candidate entering for the 2nd Vice District Governor office, at the 2010 District Convention. Lion Dr Rose summarised her campaign and objectives for the office.

 

Lion Bernie Gribben, editor of the Newsletter, asked all the clubs to submit all and any news of their activities and accomplishments so he could put them in the monthly newsletter.

The District Convention will be held in Canmore AB on January15th to 17th, 2010.

The next Zone Meeting will be held at the Lion Manor at 2.00pm on December 6th. The Host club will be Wood Creek Lions.
