Dear Lions, January 3rd, 2010

Re.: LIONS IN SIGHT

When you believe in a course strongly, you want to share that belief with the rest of the world. We Lions had been dedicated to serve those less fortunately than ourselves for the last hundred years and we had been doing it all too quietly.

This year to celebrate that dedication, International President Eberhard Wirfs established LIONS IN SIGHT initiative to remind all of us to go an extra mile to let the rest of the world know about us. He asked all of us to organize one significant Public Relationship activity during the last 2 weeks of January, 2010. And that is exactly when will happen in our District.

The LIONS IN SIGHT Committee in our District has arranged to have information booths set up in three major shopping malls in Calgary: South Centre, Sunridge and Deerfoot January 22nd to January 31st. A brochure has also been printed, designed not only to inform the general public about the 80 years of service of Lions in Alberta but also to raise their interest to learn more about our passion and our mission, enough to want to be part of us.

Now we need you to get involved.

We need Lions to be at the information booths, to talk to people about us. A schedule has been drawn up. The shifts are four hours shifts with two people at each shift. Please check your schedule and offer your time and enthusiasm.

You can contact Immediate Past District Governor Lion Christina Pond with the shifts you are available to fill. She can be reached by

Phone: 403-280-6826 (H) 403-233-5946 (B)

Email: Christina.pond@shaw.ca

You can also contact Past District Governor Lion John Watson for more information on LIONS IN SIGHT projects.

Please make this project your priority, for together, there is no limit in what we can do.

Yours in Lionism,

Lion Fred Walters

District Governor
